From the Beijing Branch President...
Dear Fellow Sauder Alumni:
The proverbial coming of age for Beijing into the 21st century, was 8/8/2008, when 80 heads of states converged on the capital of the world's most populous nation to witness the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, the largest Olympics in history. Several months later, the world plunged into the most severe financial crisis since the Great Depression and China responded with 586 Billion USD stimulus package to drive domestic growth.
It is one thing reading this in the Economist, and one thing living it in real life, which all Sauder alumni are doing here in the city of 18 million people. Whether it is the cultural sites, the envelope pushing architecture s or the dynamic change from a developing to a world leading city, Beijing has something for everyone, and I encourage you to walk with us on this journey through Viewpoints or our website, but even better in person.
Our group of alumni here are doing interesting things in China and a great resource to leverage if you are interested in living or working in China. We look forward to hearing from you.
