Jacques-Olivier obtained his PhD in Economic Geography, with honours and publication in 1996 at the University of Bordeaux. Prior to his PhD, he graduated with a Master in Economics with DEA distinction.
Jacques-Olivier is a highly respected expert on wine and Director of the Wine Academy at the BEM Management School of Bordeaux. He overseas a team that manages the Wine and Spirits MBA, Masters in Wine and Spirits and Wine and Spirits markets research lab. From 2008 to 2011, he was the Associate Dean, including Programs Director for both Bachelor and Graduate and International Development and Projects. In 2001, Jacques-Olivier was a professor and taught International Business Management.
Over the course of his educational years, Jacques-Olivier won the French Prime Minister Award for the best enterprise creation in 2005 and was the "Oenovation award winner" for the best innovation in the wine business sector (50,000€ prize) in 2004. He is also fluent in French, English and Spanish.
